DESCRIPTION:
After several weeks of preparation, we are pleased to announce that our new facility in Hong Kong has been completed, and the original VM host server, HKG01, is sitting in the new rack and ready to go. We expect this VPS migration to last 3 hours starting from 0:00, 7 Sept 2025.
This migration will involve a change in where the current IPv4 subnet for Hong Kong VPS’s (151.242.64.0/24) is advertised, since we are moving the network from a temporary facility to our new facility. Therefore, during the migration, there will be disruption to the network access of your VPS’s. To reduce the network downtime experienced by individual VPS, we will migrate about half of the Hong Kong VPS’s first, switch the IPv4 advertisement to our own facility, and then migrate the remaining half. This basically means that the longest network downtime experienced by a single VPS should be around 1.5 hours, and the downtime could happen before or after the midpoint of this migration, depending on if your VPS is in the first batch to be migrated or not.
There will be no change to the IPv4 addresses of your VPS’s. Also, after this migration, the IPv6 network in Hong Kong will be restored, and IPv6 subnets will be assigned to your VPS’s.
